Who are we?

Crystel Herrera grew up surrounded by coffee. Her father has been a coffee producer and cattle rancher for over 40 years in Matagalpa, Nicaragua. From a young age, she was immersed in the world of coffee, learning the ins and outs of the industry as part of her upbringing.

Her goal is to introduce everyone to the unique coffee from Nicaragua. She aims to share the distinct flavors and rich heritage of Nicaraguan coffee, showcasing its quality and the hard work of local producers like her family.

Her favorite: Naturals from her family's Finca, roasted in a pan over a wood fire. This traditional method brings out the flavors of the coffee in the simplest and most authentic way possible.

Marko Sas , originally a process technologist, he encountered coffee processing in Nicaragua in 2005 while working on a project to purify wastewater at a coffee plantation. He was immediately captivated by the wet mill process (beneficiado húmedo), where the coffee cherries are depulped by machines and then washed in the next step. After many projects in Central America, he could no longer separate himself from coffee, even upon returning to the Netherlands.

His goal is to provide the plantations and cooperatives he got to know during his projects with better access to the market. By leveraging the relationships and insights gained from working in Central America, he strives to help these coffee producers reach a wider audience, ensuring their hard work is fairly rewarded and their high-quality coffee gains the recognition it deserves.

His favorite: any coffee from Nicaragua where you can taste the care with which it was cultivated and processed. He values the dedication and craftsmanship behind each cup, reflecting the hard work of the farmers and the unique flavors of Nicaraguan coffee.
